TTOM Innovation Partnering Event
Date: 23 March 2010
Venue: Apex House, 99 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh, EH12 5HD
TTOM is a financial assistance programme which aims to improve technology transfer between Scottish SMEs and Scotland's HEIs in a range of high growth markets, associated with new technology development, especially Energy, Life Science, Digital Media, Enabling Technologies (including optoelectronics, electronics, microelectronics and software) and Sustainable Transport.
TTOM provides up to £5000 grant payable to an SME to spend with a Scottish university to carry out a technology feasibility study on behalf of the SME. The aim is to enable technology transfer projects, particularly with a cross-sectoral and inter-disciplinary focus. TTOM Grants are paid directly to eligible SME companies on a competitive basis, who will then contract with relevant research groups in HEIs to provide the assistance required. The grant will be paid at a maximum rate of 75%, with the remaining 25% being cash or in-kind contributions from the client SME company. Support in finding appropriate academic expertise will be provided by Interface, the Scottish service for connecting business to HEI research.
This Event introduced the TTOM grant support programme and Scottish university research pools who can assist SMEs with such studies.
