Technology Entrepreneurship Information Resource
The SOA has published a second edition of "Technology Entrepreneurship Information Resource", an information resource aimed at electronic engineering, physics, chemistry and business students, graduates, post graduates, research fellows and assistants, informing them about the opportunities and support mechanisms which exist in Scotland to become a technology business entrepreneur with particular emphasis on optoelectronics and similar micro-fabrication based technologies.
The 52 page document contains valuable advice on the set-up of a technology company, including business strategy, outsourcing, market needs analysis, business planning, intellectual property strategy, negotiation and management, new company registration, funding, grants, investors, etc. Appendices contain further information on sources of finance and financial support schemes, Scottish technology business networks, incubators, university support mechanisms, trade associations, optoelectronics research centres, university business schools and Government support agencies.
The document is available on the SOA Website in the Member's Area (-> Document Downloads -> Technology Entrepreneurship Information Resource).
