Scottish Technology Prize

Now in its third year, The Thales Scottish Technology Prize has become an important collaborative initiative in Scotland and clearly demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting Scotland’s engineering heritage by developing and consolidating its relationships with some of the world’s leading centres of academic innovation.

The Thales Scottish Technology Prize allows universities to find out about Thales and provides the opportunity to win a significant amount of money with no commitment and no loss or threat to IP. It is a truly unique competition!

The theme of this year’s prize is product engineering, which seeks to identify new technologies to enable new products or develop existing ones.  The 2010 competition invites researchers to submit details of projects that will benefit both the university and Thales, for a substantial first place cash prize of £20,000 for the institution as well as a personal prize of £2,500!

In addition to the researcher prize, this year Thales is pleased to announce the addition of an undergraduate category.  By explaining how their final year project relates to Thales business, undergraduates have the chance to win a personal 1st prize of £1,000 and £500 for the runner up!
