- Optoelectronics Activities
The GU Optoelectronics research group carries out a wide range of research, ranging from the underlying physics and processes for devices, through sub-system development and demonstrators to communications systems behaviour. Topics covered include:

Specialised Skills and Facilities
Expertise in semiconductor processing technologies for optoelectronic and specialised electronic devices. Materials used include lll – V semiconductors lithium niobate, silica, specialised polymer films for lithography and planarization, contact metallizations (various processes), etc. Facilities: Electron beam lithography, photolithography, molecular beam epitaxial (MBE) growth, Class 100 clean rooms, rapid thermal annealing (RTA), vacuum evaporation, optical crystal polishing, dyebonder, scribing and cleaning facilities, etc.
