Product/Research Description
Optoelectronic products produced in Newhouse include keyless door entry systems, liquid level sensors, fibre optic couplers, and optical displacement sensing systems. Newhouse is part of the Honeywell Automation & Control Solutions – Control Products business unit, which is a leading producer of Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs).

Specialised Skills and Facilities
Honeywell’s design expertise at Newhouse lies predominantly in electronic signal processing skills, particularly in the application of ASICS, and electro-mechanical sensing systems. There is also an in-house optical design capability. The Newhouse factory has won many awards, including the 1998 Scottish Quality Foundation Award for Business Excellence in Manufacturing. It is a recognised leader in flexible cell manufacturing, supply chain management and the application of six sigma techniques in manufacturing, supported by design for six sigma.
