Organisation Description

Optoscribe are specialists in 3D laser inscription for the manufacturing of photonic components. Optoscribe’s technology allows the manufacturing of 3D waveguide circuitry, alongside 3D micromachined structures using a single monolithic manufacturing process. The technology is capable of working with a wide range of materials, and offers a rapid design and manufacturing turnaround.

Currently a manufacturing service is offered, providing prototyping / product development opportunities. Alongside this service our ‘Optofan-3D’ product is offered, which solves the problem of reliably and robustly interfacing multi-core optical fibre to single-core networks.

New Products

Optofan-3D:
Optofan-3D solves the problem of reliably addressing invidual light guiding cores of a multi-core optical fibre, a problem that has prohibited the uptake of multi-core fibre in real world applications.
This patent pending device uses our 3D laser waveguide inscription technology to route light from the closely packed geometry of a multi-core fibre to an off the shelf fibre v-groove array. This is achieved with low losses in a robust and easily usable format.

Main Markets

Optical Communications, Defense, Biophotonics, Oil and Gas, Aerospace.

Services Offered

Optical Prototyping and manufacturing service. 3D waveguide manufacturing, 3D Micro-optics, MOEMS, Micromachining. Wide range of material capabilities. Photonic device modelling and manufacturing expertise.
