Organisation Description

Uk Displays & Lighting is one o 22 KTNs (Knowlege Transfer Networks) in the UK. KTN objectives are to exploit IP created in university labs by proactively introducing industrial partners; facilitate collaborations (research and commercial) between companies; set the scene for growth of jobs and wealth for UK plcs; and report back to government (in simple language) what’s going on out there. At the international level, UKDL is partnered with ADRIA, has links to DFF and USDC, and is developing links with Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India and China. The activities of the UKDL KTN include road-mapping (competency and technology development), tutprials, workshops, seminars, inward/otward missions.

Product/Research Description

The UK Displays and Lighting KTN is committed to support the displays and lighting communities (SMEs, OEMs, academics) in the UK:

*From the science base, through the manufacturing sector to the end user *From the point of scienific invention, through ‘fit for purpose’ use in its operating lifetime to the implentation of recycling and waste management at ‘end of prosuct life’/

These support activities are implented with a clear focus on increasing UK manufacturing, employment and wealth creation opportunities.

Specialised Skills and Facilities

Located at the UKDL Headquarters facility in Blrtchley Park, we have a lab available for members to reserve ‘test time’ on any of our equipment. The standards, but at the present time the Lab Facility is not certitifed to ISO 9002. The Laboratory is operated as a ‘not for profit’ activity, and charge raes to use the equipment are based on the running and maintenance costs only.
