Edinburgh International Science Festival

The next Edinburgh International Science Festival will take place from the 3rd to the 17th of April 2010. In 2009, the Science Festival celebrated its 21st anniversary with its most successful festival to date. In total, 68,000 visitors were thrilled, entertained, mystified and enlightened by Edinburgh's celebration of science and technology.

TTOM Innovation Partnering Event
Venue: Apex House, 99 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh, EH12 5HD

TTOM provides up to £5000 grant payable to an SME to spend with a Scottish university to carry out a technology feasibility study on behalf of the SME. This Event introduced the TTOM grant support programme and Scottish university research pools who can assist SMEs with such studies.
Photonic Sources & Detectors Workshop
Venue: Still Room, IET Teacher Building, 14 St Enoch Square, Glasgow, G1 4DB

Speakers at the event summarised recent advances in photonic sources and detectors. Applications, features, technology drivers and barriers for sources and detectors were reviewed and discussed.
